An interesting study that focuses on the potential for infringement of comsumer privacy by data mining. It discusses how personal data can be extracted from "withdrawing cash from ATMs; paying with debit or credit cards; using loyalty cards; borrowing money; writing cheques; renting a car or a video; making a telephone call or an insurance claim; and, increasingly, sending or receiving e-mail and surfing the Net. Since virtually all of these transactions or activities involve some form of electronic identification, each transaction captures some personal information about you and stores it in electronic form" and the implications of using datamining on this acquired data. Prevention policies for protection of privacy are also suggested.

The purpose of this publication is to inform the public of the implications of datamining on their privacy. Anyone concerned about the security of their personal data will find this  artical of interest.

This is essentially a one page website. however it is laid out clearly with an index of the start which has "anchoring" links to sub headings of each part of the article. It has no graphics, presentation is clean and concise. Not the prettiest site but very informative and achieves its purpose well.
