ACRC is a centre of research at the Universtiy of South Australia. It researches in the areas of computer science, software and computing engineering. It is a core component of the university's research strategy in information technology.

this website, in particular the datamining and knowledge discovery section, highlights the research efforts being made by academics at the uinversity. The purpose of this website is to convey the projects that are undergoing research and the issues that they address. this research illustrates the potential that datamining has on e-commerce, "This project will investigate how the traditional data mining tools (such as statistical and machine learning) can be utilised (or extended) for Web-based information sources. In other words, this project will address the issue of enlarging the application domain of data mining techniques to those generated by electronic marketplace and commerce."

The target audience of this website are researches, people in the datamining industry, IT specialists, who want to learn of new research efforts. The site does not aim to teach or inform the audience of what datamining is, and how the tools and techniques are used.

The web siteis very well designed, navigation is clear with a menu bar on the left together with a search field. the layout is simple and not cluttered with useless graphics that hog up bandwith to download.
